In 1983 his first album “UN SABATO ITALIANO” was released. This album immediately brought him success and is still a classic. Sergio’s style is a POP- JAZZ that often ranges in Latin and with an unusual and innovative use of language, the predominant themes are everyday life, love, and metropolitan neuroses. “Un sabato italiano” was followed by 12 albums plus various compilations, Sergio participated in the Sanremo Festival three times, and in recent years he has returned with particular determination to jazz and Latin sounds.

His outstanding collaborations include names such as Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Scott, Mel Collins (King Crimson), Tony Bowers (Simply Red), Enrico Rava, Roberto Gatto, Flavio Boltro, Danilo Rea and many others. With the new millennium he moved to California, where he lived and worked for 12 years in touch with his musical roots and making a name for himself as a “Smooth Jazz” guitarist. In 2008 his first novel was published by Mondadori, “Desperately (and late dog) ”. Recently Sergio celebrated the 30th anniversary of “UN SABATO ITALIANO” with a new album, “UN SABATO ITALIANO 30,” a remake in a more jazzy version of the historic album, containing two unreleased tracks. Also released is the book “UN SABATO ITALIANO memories,” an Oscar Mondadori must-have.

March 2015 saw the release of his new album of new songs “POP, JAZZ and LOVE,” entirely in English except for the single “A bazzicare il lungomare.” Its mix of pop, jazz and poetry returns to reaffirm the style that has always distinguished the author. In 2017 an artistic collaboration with Francesco Baccini was born, with whom he released the unreleased album “CHEWING GUM BLUES.” In 2018, among many live performances, he releases the album “OGGETTI SMARRITI,” an unplugged with three unreleased songs, and other songs of his own. In spring 2023, he starts his new tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of “Un Sabato Italiano.” The project includes a live performance of the entire album, plus the unfailing hits that followed it, such as “Italiani Mambo,” “L’Astronave che arriva,” “Il Garibaldi Innamorato,” and other hits dear to the public.
