Zenart Management presents KIND OF BILL
Usually, tributes are dedicated to those who have already passed away, and certainly the great jazz pianist Bill Evans has not been with us since September 15, 1980, a very sad day for both musicians and jazz fans. However, his notes and his magic remain absolutely alive, and this project aims to celebrate that very aspect of his world: the immortality of his message and legacy.
The title of this tribute, KIND OF BILL, is also the title of a song by Joe La Barbera and perfectly describes the intent of the project created by pianist Dado Moroni, who has never hidden his love for Evas’ music, by bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Joe La Barbera, who over the years have made enormous contributions to Evans’ music by infusing new life into the pianist’s ideas, so this is also a tribute to them for what they did then and continue to do now, keeping the magic alive with their projects, and the words KIND OF BILL mean exactly that: a tribute that includes not only Bill’s compositions but also standards that under his fingers have become almost entirely new and original pieces, and compositions written by Moroni, Gomez and La Barbera.
